Our Instructors & Staff Members

Our Instructors have spent many years devoted to training in the art of Tang Soo Do and other martial arts and have attained a certain level of expertise to qualify them as teachers and also mentors.

Through extensive testing, certification and tournament level competition, our staff has attained mastery in this martial art and now enjoy sharing their skill and passing it on to their students.

Here are a few of ACTON TANG SOO DO KRAV MAGA's instructors and other staff members, starting with Frankie McConnell:

Frankie McConnell  (6th dan Master)  Send E-mail to Frankie McConnell

Master Frankie McConnell is the head instructor of Acton Karate in Acton, California. He began studying martial arts in his hometown of Marshall, Texas in 1989, learning the traditional Korean art of Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan (currently known as Soo Bahk Do) under Masters Poole, Duncan, and Smith - who were themselves students of Grandmaster
Hwang Kee's son, H.C.Hwang. In 1993, he began studying under the American Tang Soo Do system, earning his First Dan (degree) black belt in the spring of 1994. He currently holds the 6th Dan (Master) black belt, and is working towards his (7th Degree) belt.

Through his training as a Martial Artist, Master McConnell has learned that mind, body, and spirit all work together to create a strong personal unity. His teaching gives his students not only the technical knowledge of karate, but focuses as well on the proper mindset to achieve each student's personal goals - both in and out of the studio. With a positive and supportive philosophy, extensive background in the Martial Arts, and a large network of affiliated karate studios and styles, Acton Karate provides the student with the knowledge and the confidence to reach for their dreams!
