Master Frankie
McConnell is a 4th Degree Black Belt in the Korean art of Tang Soo Do.
He has trained in the self-defense system and received certification in
BASH.
He earned his 1st Dan Black Belt in Feb 1994 at age 27. Master
McConnell is known for his tough love approach that students of all ages
love.
He started his own studio in a
garage in Acton, Ca in June of 1994 with partner Master Mark Cox and began the
Acton Karate studio a few months later located in the Santiago Square (where he
is still located) to accommodate his students. Although originally
from Texas he has made his home in the Antelope Valley since 1994, where he
lives with his wife and 2 small children.
Master McConnell is proud to be a part of the American
Tang Soo Do Alliance. His is one of 7 programs run by black belts
trained by Grandmaster Dennis
Ichikawa. They are: 7th Dan Grand Master Terry McMeekin, 5th Dan Master Mark Cox,
5th Dan Master Conrad
Ercolono, 5th Dan
Master Jason Flame, 4th Dan Master Mikeal Smith and
4th Dan Master Aaron Lawrence. This group forms one of the largest
groups of students and instructors related to the Chuck Norris family
